In the past decade, Prime Video has launched a ton of original content, so much so that it can feel overwhelming if you’re just scrolling through. Prime TV shows range from dystopian superhero action (The Boys) to ’70s rock-and-roll dramas (Daisy Jones & the Six), and while they’re all great in their own ways, they’re not all equally bingeable. That’s where I, your streaming TV fairy godmother, come in. Why waste your time endlessly browsing when there are so many great shows to watch? To facilitate your next television obsession, I have compiled a list of the 35 best Amazon Prime Video series—ranked from casual watch to the most binge-worthy. I Know What You Did Last Summer
This horror series is a retelling of classic '90s slasher film. A group of teenagers, living in a small town full of secrets, are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
Class of '07
A tidal wave hits as a group of women gathered together for their Australian all-girls high school's ten-year reunion. With this unexpected (and hilariously dark) turn of events, the former classmates must figure out a way to survive not just the apocalypse, but each other. Suddenly, it's like high school all over again.
Steal
Sophie Turner stars in this heart-pounding thriller about the heist of the century. Ordinary office worker Zara has her ordinary work day upended when a gang of violent thieves barge into the office of their pension fund investment company. She and her work bestie are forced to execute the thieves' demands.
56 Days
An unidentified body, which looks to have been savagely murdered, is found in a luxury apartment linked to Oliver Kennedy (Avan Jogia) and Ciara Wyse (Dove Cameron). This happens exactly 56 days since the pair first had a chance encounter at a supermarket, which marked the beginning of their intense relationship. Now detectives must figure out all the events that transpired within the couple's short, but deadly, romance.
The Expanse
What would happen if human civilization was spread across the universe? Humans are not just on Earth, but also Mars and the Asteroid Belt. As it turns out, it causes an even more complicated and delicate socio-political situation. Oh, and also unknown threats from outer space.
Cross
This series adaptation of James Patterson novels stars Aldis Hodge as the great Alex Cross, a decorated D.C. homicide detective and forensic psychologist. The show follows Cross and his partner, Detective John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), as they pursue some of America's most dangerous killers.
The Girlfriend
This thriller explores the themes of obsession, class, and psychological manipulation. The story follows the tense battle for affection between an overprotective mother (Robin Wright) and her son's mysterious new girlfriend (Olivia Cooke).
Counterpart
Howard Silk (J.K. Simmons) is a low-level agent at a Berlin-based United Nations spy agency who discovers that his organization is hiding a big secret: a gateway to a parallel dimension. Upon learning of its existence, he becomes caught up in a mysterious world of espionage and government conspiracies beyond his wildest imagination. The only person he feels he can trust is Prime, his identical counterpart from the parallel dimension.
The Night Manager
Former British soldier, now hotel night manager, Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) is recruited by intelligence agent Angela Burr (Olivia Colman) and finds himself involved in international espionage.
Fallout
Based on one of the greatest video game series ever created, Fallout is set in Los Angeles in the year 2296—over two centuries after a global nuclear holocaust known as "the Great War." It follows the journey of Lucy who steps out to the surface for the first time in search of her father after he is kidnapped from their underground vault. Along the way she meets The Ghoul a.k.a. Cooper Howard (The White Lotus's Walton Goggins) as he still searches for his wife after all these years.
Modern Love
This series brings the New York Times’s unique love stories from its Modern Love column and podcast to life. The episodes are stand-alone, so it’s a nice show if you want to spread it out over a long period of time. Though if you’d like to watch it all in a few days, I won’t stop you!
Daisy Jones & the Six
Daisy Jones & the Six, based on the novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, tells the story of a fictional 1970s band plagued by infighting, romantic love triangles and fallouts, and addiction. And you’re sure to get swept up into all the drama.
With Love
Have you ever watched a rom-com and thought, Man, I wish this was a TV show? That’s With Love. The comedy series follows the roller-coaster love lives of Lily (Emeraude Toubia) and Jorge (Mark Indelicato), a brother-sister duo with very involved parents.
Mozart in the Jungle
This show proves that classical music is anything but boring. A dashing young maestro named Rodrigo (Gael García Bernal) takes over as the conductor of the New York Symphony. While his talent may charm, his bad behavior causes drama behind the curtains. But because he’s decided to shake things up in the orchestra, things are looking good for a young oboist named Hailey (Lola Kirke).
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) was lucky as any gal could be in the late-1950s. She had an apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, two kids, a husband, and as many dresses and hats as her heart desired. But one night, that all falls apart. As a result, she finds a new love worth pursuing: stand-up comedy.
Harlem
Writer and producer Tracy Oliver, who brought us the gem that is Girls Trip, created one of Prime Video’s newest shows, Harlem. The hysterical and über-relatable series follows four best friends in the historic Manhattan enclave as they navigate career, dating, family, and sisterhood against a gentrifying backdrop. The all-star cast is led by Meagan Good and also costars Whoopi Goldberg.
A League of Their Own
The 1992 classic film A League of Their Own has long been adopted by the LGBTQ+ community despite the fact that the movie didn’t explicitly depict any same-sex relationships. The Prime Original show decided to right that wrong, making A League of Their Own not just diverse (yes, Black women played baseball too) but explicitly inclusive of the queer community. After an initial season 2 pick-up, the show was canceled, but it remains one of the best original shows Prime Video has ever released, and it’s more than worth your time.
Upload
This sci-fi comedy is set in the future when people can upload their consciousness into a digital afterlife of their choosing. A young computer programmer Nathan (Robbie Amell) dies and gets uploaded to a luxurious virtual resort. There he meets Nora, who starts off as a customer service guide but eventually becomes a friend who helps him navigate the pros and cons of this “heaven.”
Catastrophe
A Boston ad exec and a London school teacher have a weeklong fling that leads to an accidental pregnancy. Rob (Rob Delaney) moves across the pond to try and figure things out with Sharon (Sharon Horgan), but they realize they don’t really know each other at all.
Sneaky Pete
A con man (Giovanni Ribisi) tries to escape a gangster (Bryan Cranston) by taking on the identity of his prison cellmate named Pete. It seems like the perfect con until he realizes, upon “reuniting” with Pete’s family, that they’re a dysfunctional group that could drag him into even more trouble than he’s already in. But they could also be the family he’s never had.
